SHS National Prospectus PDF

The Ghana Education Service (GES) under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MoE) has designed a National Prospectus for Senior High/Technical Schools (SHS/SHTS/TVET) for both Boarding and Day students. Students placed into various categories of SHS and STEM schools in Ghana through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) can download the GES SHS National Prospectus PDF to check the list of school and personal items required for Senior High School admission.

General Items for Boarding Students (Must Have)

• Hard Body Suitcase or Trunk
• Chop Box (Wooden/Plastic)
• Drinking Cup,1 Plastic or Stainless Plate, and a Set of Cutlery
• Toiletries (1 Deodorant, 1 pack T-roll, toothpaste, toothbrush, Soap, pomade, and 2 packs of sanitary pads for girls)
• Decent Sandals (school-specific) – No embellishment
• A Pair of Leather Slippers (school-specific)
• Decent Sneakers (black or white)
• 2 Pair of Socks (school-specific)
• 1 Pyjamas/sleep wear
• Underwear (5 pants and 3 vests for girls, 3 boxer shorts or pants & 3 Singlets for boys)
• 1 Plastic Bucket with Cover and Pail
• RSV/NIV Bible/Quran and Hymn Book for Christians (School Specific)
• Pillow covered with Mackintosh
• 2 Students’ bedsheets with 2 pillowcases – Plain white
• 1 Blanket & Sleeping cloth
• A Pair of Khaki Trousers
• A Pair of White Trousers (or school-specific)
• White dress for ladies
• 2 White Shirts (1 short sleeve and 1 long sleeve)
• Student’s Size Mosquito Net
• 1 School Bag
• 1 Mathematical Set & Scientific Calculator
• 2 Checked Dresses (where applicable)
• Student Mattress (where not available in the school)
• Shoe (School specific colour)
• Belt (School specific colour)
• 1 Hoe/Cutlass

GROUP: You are required to buy items from one of the following groups. Please check your group from the placement forms via www.cssps.gov.gh

1. Group 1:
   • A pair of Hand Gloves (Hard)
   • Liquid Soap (5 litres)
   • 1Kg Washing Powdered Soap
2. Group 2:
   • 1 Bleach (Small Size)
   • 1 Dust Pan
   • 1 Long Handle Broom
   • 1 Scrubbing Brush
3. Group 3:
   • 1 Standing Mop and Mop Bucket
   • 1 Duster
   • 1 Short Local Broom

NB: All personal items should be embossed or embroidered with the student’s name.

General Items for Day Students (Must Have)

• 1 Mathematical Set and Scientific Calculator
• Decent Sandals (School Specific – No Embellishment)
• Decent Sneakers (black or white)
• 1 School Bag

• VALID NHIS CARD
• NATIONAL ID CARD (GHANA CARD IF ANY)
• TWO PASSPORT SIZE PICTURES
• PHOTOCOPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE /BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE IF REQUIRED BY SCHOOL
