Find out the updated list of category A, B, C and D Senior High Schools (SHS) in Ghana. In Ghana, due to the Computerized School Selection and Placement system (CSSPS) introduced in 2005. Therefore, all SHS have been grouped into Category A, B, C, and D based on their infrastructure and academic performance.
Besides, all category can be find in all the sixteen (16) regions, and their capital cities such as Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast, and Ho.

SHS School Selection and Placement
Meanwhile, when the West African Examination Council, Ghana releases BECE results, all Junior High School (JHS) graduates will have the opportunity to login CSSPS Placement Checker Portal to check their Senior High School (SHS) placement.
Before that, all candidates have to follow these SHS School Selection guidelines to select six (6) schools of their choice under Free SHS Secretariats from the list of category A, B, C and D schools above. Appendix 1 and 2 are recommendations for Technical/Vocational Institutions and interested candidates.
Besides, an applicant who has not been placed into any Senior Cycle institutions after placement can follow this guideline for self-placement.
