- The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) online application is free. It is a free service with no fee payment required. It is very important to determine first what you want to study before you start the online application process.
- The other most important thing you should know is whether you meet the admission minimum requirements for the programme choices. Admission Points (AP) (minimum 27, matric pass level explained)

- Address of the person responsible for the account
- Email addresses are compulsory
- All documents must be saved as soft copies for uploading.
CUT Required Documents for Application
- Current Matriculates: upload Final Grade 11 results or Grade 12 June results.
- Already Matriculated applicants: you will have to upload your certified ID and Senior Certificate.
- Higher Qualifications than matric: you will have to upload your certified ID, Senior Certificate, your qualification(s), and study record.
- Postgraduate Applicants: Visit the Head of the Department / Assistant Deans, Research Innovation and Engagement to discuss a research project for Master or Doctorate study before applying online.
How to Apply for CUT Admission
Start your application process by answering the questions below, and continue with the steps until the system generates a student number.
Follow these steps to complete Online Application to the Central University of Technology, CUT. Apply as a New Undergraduate Applicant.

- Navigate to Study at CUT
- Tap on Apply Online from the drop-down menu
- Tap on New Applicants
- Do you already have a student number? Select No | If Yes Apply Here
- Returning to complete application: Select No
- Re-apply, a returning or current student who has applied at CUT before, Start from Here
- Read the Application Rules and tick I Accept
- Fill in your biographical details (i.e. Nationality (input SA ID or Passport exactly as it is), Personal info, street address, contact, residence, and disability info)
- Enter Account details and Next of kin details
- Input your Academic details (Grade 11 or June Grade 11, Grade 12 results are uploaded from Dept of Education)
- Add subject and continue to add subject
- Tell us where you attended school or if you have studied at another institution. If your school/institution is not listed, type in other.
- Do you have a qualification(s)? Tell us about it. Where, when, and what subjects have you completed?
- Select your first and second choice programme
- Create your 5-digit PIN (Should NOT start/end with Zero and Must NOT include repeated numbers)
- Print a copy of the application for your records before you submit it online
- Upload all required documents (without documents, your application is incomplete)
- The student number is generated
NB: Applicants are required to keep the student number and 5-digit PIN to enable them to retrieve their admission letter or to check their admission status.

- Tap upload document
- Browse and select the document from your device
- Tap on Save
- Review the uploaded document. Yes indicates that you have uploaded successfully.
Well done, Allow for 6 – 10 weeks for feedback from the date of application. Use the online portal to check your CUT application status. and apply for NSFAS online. Access CUT ITS i-enabler to register for your semester courses online.
CUT Returning Students Application
Returning OR Internal applicants with CUT Student ID login to reapply online. These steps are for applicants who have applied for admission at CUT and acquired a Student Number.
- Access the CUT Student iEnabler
- Login with your Student Number and PIN (If you forgot your pin, click on Forgot Pin and a new pin will be generated)
- Tap on Submit Application and view the application rules
- Enter the programme you are applying to study
- Tap on Search
- Tap on the programme code (in blue) to add the programme to your profile
- View the Completed Application and verify the programme selected
- Tap to select a disability status (if applicable)
- Follow this step to upload additional documents
- View process status (Summary of all stages completed)
A notification will be emailed that your application profile has when updated.
How to Retrieve your CUT Student Number and PIN
Applicants who have applied but cannot remember the student number, here’s what to do:
- Visit the CUT Website
- Navigate to Study at CUT
- Tap on “Check Application Status”
- Enter your ID or Passport Number
The system record is given. Check details are yours. The allocated student number is displayed at the top.
Reset Your PIN
Follow the steps below to retrieve your PIN
- Access the CUT Login Page
- Enter your Student Number
- Tap Forgot PIN
Your PIN will be sent to your email address. Retrieve your email with your PIN and login.
