About TUT Online Application

As a dynamic university of technology, the Tshwane University of Technology will provide you with unlimited opportunities for professional and personal development, while equipping you with skills and knowledge to live your life to the fullest and to create your own destiny. Academically, TUT is divided into seven faculties with various courses/programmes under different departments.

  • Life Orientation and an achievement level of 1 in a subject are not considered in the calculation of the Admission Point Score (APS).
  • Six subject levels are used to determine the APS Score
  • Prospective students will not be admitted to any programme without prior evaluation.
  • Apply as soon as possible because a programme may close at any time when it is full, even if the deadline has not yet passed.

TUT Minimum Admission Requirements

TUT admission requirements for entry-level programmes adhere to national legislation and therefore the following are required:

  • Bachelor’s degrees: at least four subjects at performance level 4.
  • Diplomas: at least four subjects at performance level 3.

Reference Number

When the application has been processed, the applicant will be allocated a unique reference number (his/her student number) for identification purposes.

How to Apply for TUT Admission

Start your application process by answering the questions below, and continue with the steps until the system generates a student number. Use the applicant’s ID numbers / Passport Numbers as a reference.

Follow these steps to complete Online Application to the Tshwane University of Technology, TUT. Apply as a New Undergraduate Applicant.

  1. Login TUT Application Portal
  2. Do you already have a student number? Select No | If Yes Apply Here
  3. Returning to complete application: Select No
  4. Do you have a Qualification Specific Token? No
  5. Read the Application Rules and tick I Accept
  6. Fill in your biographical details (i.e. Nationality, Personal info, street address, contact, residence, disability info)
  7. Enter Account details, Next of kin details
  8. Academic details
  9. Select programme of choice
  10. Create your 5-digit PIN (Should NOT start/end with Zero and Must NOT include repeated numbers)
  11. Print a copy of the application for your records before you submit it online
  12. Upload of document
  13. The student number is generated

NB: Applicants are required to keep the student number and 5-digit PIN to enable them to retrieve their admission letter or to check TUT application status.
