In Ghana, all qualified teachers are registered on the Teacher Ghana Portal. To be a qualified licensed teacher in Ghana, you must obtain a degree (B.Ed.) from an accredited University or College of Education and pass the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) organized by the National Teaching Council (NTC).

How to Access NTC GTLE Index Number Verification Portal

Successful Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) candidates can now verify their index number online through the GES Teacher Portal.

1. Go to the TPG NTC Website
2. Scroll down the homepage
3. Locate GTLE
4. Tap on Index Number Verification
5. Enter your GTLE Index Number (e.g GTLE/VR0001/19)
6. Tap on the Search button

Check and confirm whether the following details have been uploaded onto the GES teacher portal

• Name
• GTLE index number
• GTLE Year Group
• College Name
• College Index Number
• Program

Follow these steps to access the GES Licensed Teacher Register online and download the PDF.

1. Go to TPG NTC Portal
2. Navigate to Regulatory Services
3. Tap on Licensed Teacher Register
4. Select Your Region and District
5. Download the Licensed Teacher Register

How to Verify Teacher License in Ghana

Verification of teacher license in Ghana is done online through the TPG NTC portal, here’s the step to follow;

1. Access Teacher Portal Ghana
2. Navigate to Regulatory Services
3. Tap on Licensed Teacher Verification
4. Enter License Number (e.g PT/00000/2020)
5. Tap on the Search button

Check and confirm whether the following details are correct

• Name
• License number
• License expiry date
• License category

GES teachers who cannot verify their Staff ID or SSNIT should send their payslip, SSNIT ID, and scanned first appointment letter to [email protected]. Requests for a statement of professional standing are usually processed within ten business days.
