Combination of Matric Results
If you wrote matric in more than one examination sitting and want to combine your credits to qualify for a National Certificate, i.e. Senior Certificate (SC) or National Senior Certificate (NSC), you must apply for a Replacement certificate: change of status.
The department does not automatically combine credits unless you write a supplementary examination.
There are qualifying criteria for having your results “combined”. If, when checked against the criteria, the credits still result in the same status (i.e. Admission to Higher Certificate or Admission to Diploma) the results will not be combined into one matric certificate. Combination does not mean your two results will be added together, the higher of the 2 marks will be used.
