Terms Associated with the NUST Student Portal
- “Academic Year” – A defined portion of a Programme consisting of two semesters.
- “Continuous Assessment” – Prescribed assignments to be completed within a given period and forming a part of a module.
- “Industrial Attachment” – A prescribed period of hands-on experience in a relevant work setting.
- “Module” – This is a component within a Programme that is separately examinable.
- “Programme”– A plan of study lasting over a period which leads to the award of a degree, diploma, or certificate of the University.
- “Project” – A defined practical assignment that is separately examinable.
- “Semester” – A prescribed period normally comprising 15 weeks, including teaching, revision, and examinations.
- “Subject” – A field of study offered by a Department
- Credit – Quantified means of expressing the volume of learning based on the workload students need to achieve the expected outcomes of a module.
- Credit accumulation – The process of collecting credits awarded for achieving the learning outcomes of a module component of a programme.

Publication of End of Semester Examination Results at NUST
The National University of Science & Technology semester examination results lists shall be published individually on the NUST Student Web Portal, and where necessary, shall be posted on University Notice Boards. The Registrar may post to each candidate at his/her registered address, a copy of his/her results.

Follow these steps to register for your semester courses online at the National University of Science & Technology (NUST).

- Enter your Username and Password
- Tap on Online Registration or Student Registration
- Verify the Semester and Courses you are registering
- Tap on the Submit button

- Wrong Student Number Entry as No instead of N0(zero). NUST Student Number has letters at the beginning and the end, the rest are numeric.
