About Blackboard CUNY
Blackboard Learn is CUNY’s enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), centrally supported and managed by the Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS), and staff and instructional leaders on the campuses.
Blackboard is accessed from the www.cuny.edu menu bar and direct access URLs on CUNY websites. To Access use your CUNY Login credentials. If you have not claimed your CUNY first account on CUNY Login, you must do so before accessing Blackboard. Your CUNY Login username is your CUNY first username followed by @login.cuny.edu and your CUNY first password.
if you log into CUNYfirst as george.washington76, your CUNY Login will be [email protected].
CUNY CIS migrated to Blackboard SaaS, a cloud computing environment. As part of the new Blackboard SaaS platform, users will see changes to Blackboard’s update cycle.
How to Access CUNY Blackboard
To access and login to Blackboard, here’s the step to follow:
- Go to CUNY Website
- Tap on Login
- Select Blackboard from the drop down menu
- Access Blackboard

Follow the step to access and login to the City University of New York
- Access Blackboard Portal
- Enter your CUNY first username, along with @login.cuny.edu, and password
- Tap on the login button
Blackboard page will open with the Home tab active. Courses you are teaching or taking are displayed in the My Courses module.
Creating a Login Bookmark
You can create a Blackboard login bookmark as an alternative way to access the portal.
Note: Bookmarking the CUNY Login page will not work.
