Schedules for BECE Results

Based on projection, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results take a maximum of 45 days to complete marking and collating scripts and grades.

Stages and How BECE Results is released

  1. Marking, Script checking, and Collation of results take a maximum of 45 days from the date of the last paper.
  2. Unusual circumstances due to technical challenges, the release of BECE results may exceed the 45 days limit set by WAEC.
  3. The exam papers are sent to the examiners for marking within the first two weeks after the BECE examination.
  4. The exam papers are then submitted to the Zonal examiner at the various regional WAEC centers for verification after marking by the examiners in each region.
  5. Script Checkers are invited to cross-check each script one by one for any errors, wrong tally, omission, or addition of marks.
  6. The chief examiner then forwards them to the WAEC Headquarters for final verification.
  7. After the verification by the Headquarters, the results will be uploaded on the WAEC portal for checking by candidates.

BECE Grading System

The grading system for BECE candidates is outlined. Attainment in a subject is indicated by a grade – Grade 1 being the highest and Grade 9 the lowest. The interpretation of the grades is as follows:

Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)

The Ghana Education Service (GES) after WAEC releases the 2021 BECE results will open the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) checker portal for the JHS graduates to check SHS Placement.

Subsequently, GES has released the CSSPS School Selection Guideline to help both students and parents make the best choices among these categories of SHS in Ghana.

The Minister for Education also disclosed GES has upgraded the CSSPS Placement Checker Portal to ensure there is no downtime during checking of school placement by 2021 BECE graduates.
