Release of 2023 SHS School Placement
This year, out of the 563,339 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 553,155 candidates qualified for placement. Out of these, 447,698 candidates (80.93%) were automatically placed in one of their preferred schools.
However, 104,918 qualified candidates were not matched with any of their selected schools. Of this group, 73,390 (13.27%) were placed in schools similar to their original choices. These students are given the option to accept or reject the offer. If students reject the recommended school, they can select a new one through the Self-Placement platform.
In total, 521,088 candidates, representing 94.20% of the qualified students, have successfully been placed in schools. Not-placed students are encouraged to use the Self-Placement platform to select a school.
