Finger Lakes Community College Brightspace Features

1. Brightspace Learning is an online library for storing, managing, and sharing your learning resources (learning objects).
2. A learning object can be a quiz, a presentation, an image, a video, or any other kind of document or file you use to create course content and learning materials for online learning.
3. When you publish your learning objects to Learning Repository, you tag those objects with metadata to classify and organize your learning objects and make them easily searchable for others.
4. You can classify learning objects according to defined learning standards or goals. You can also review, rate, and provide feedback on learning objects to ensure high-quality online resources.

About submission types

Four submission types are available to instructors when creating assignments to allow evaluation of many different tasks.

1. File submission: learners upload and submit a file to the assignment.
2. Text submission: learners post text, image, or a link to their work in a text box within the assignment.
3. On-paper submission: learners submit a physical copy of their assignment directly to their instructor. No file upload is required to complete the assignment.
4. Observed in person: allows instructors to observe learners as they perform tasks, such as in-class presentations, and evaluate them using Assignments. No file upload is required to complete the assignment.
