First Time Applicants

What you need to apply for the passport. Scan and attach the following:

  1. Birth Certificate (Proof of Ghanaian citizenship)
  2. Documents to support Identity such as Driver’s Licence, National ID card
  3. Proof of Profession (An introductory letter from the applicant’s employer, if the applicant is currently employed, or a work ID card that bears the applicant’s name, organization’s name, and position.
  4. A student ID if the applicant is currently in school.
  5. Homemakers/housewives and applicants that are unemployed and those in the non-formal sector of employment, like mechanics, hairdressers, seamstresses, traders, etc., do not need proof.
  6. Registered Business Owners and self-employed applicants must produce their business registration certificate as proof)

  2. On the Homepage, Locate and Tap Passport Office
  3. Thereafter, Locate and Tap on APPLY to Proceed and Access the Portal

How to Apply For Passport

The following is a list containing a detailed tutorial on applying for a passport in Ghana if you are a New User.

  1. Visit the Online Passport Application Portal
  2. Tap on “Sign Up” at the right corner of your screen
  3. Enter your First Name and Other Name
  4. Provide your Phone Number
  5. Enter your Email Address
  6. Provide your Password
  7. Tap on the Continue Button to Proceed after completing the details
  8. A One Time Password (OPT) will be sent to the phone number provided during the registration.
  9. Enter the OTP and hit “Continue”
  10. Tap on “Apply”
  11. Search for the Passport Office
  12. Tap on “Apply”
  13. You will be redirected to a different page
  14. Tap on “Authorize” to enable the application to share your details with the Passport Application portal.
  15. You will be redirected to the passport application platform Make Payment or Verify the Voucher.

NB: To complete an application, you have to purchase passport forms online via Mobile Money or Visa/MasterCard

Inability to Book Appointment?

Follow the steps below to book an appointment:

  1. Visit www.ghana.gov.gh
  2. Tap on Passport Office
  3. Tap on Apply
  4. Enter your credentials when the Sign In appears.
  5. After successfully signing in, you will be redirected to the passport page.
  6. Tap on “My Applications”
  7. Tapon “Uncompleted Applications”
  8. Tap on the form there
  9. Fill in the various sections of the form
  10. Sign the declaration using the OTP sent to your email or phone.
  11. NB: After signing the declaration form, you will have access to the appointment page.
  12. Proceed to book an appointment
  13. Select the PAC of your choice (NB: Applicants who select the Premium PAC will pay an additional fee)
  14. Select an “Appointment Date “:
  15. Available days are shaded “White”,
  16. Booked days are shaded “Black”,
  17. Blocked days are shaded “Green”
  18. Past days are shaded “Grey.”

Unavailability of Witness?

  • If your witness is unavailable, kindly print the appointment sheet and ask a commissioner of oaths at any Post Office to do the corrections.
  • At the PAC, alert the officers who will make the change in the system before the approval process.
