About YouStart Ghana
The YouStart Ghana Jobs and Skills Project is a Government of Ghana initiative with financing and technical support from the World Bank.
The program is intended to complement the government’s efforts to reduce the high rate of youth unemployment in the country by equipping the youth with skills and providing financial support to start businesses.
The main objective of the jobs and skills project is to support skills development and job creation in Ghana. The project is considered one of the main forms of support for the government’s top-priority agenda of upgrading skills among the country’s population, creating more and better-quality jobs, and improving job outcomes for the youth.
Who is Eligible to Apply for YouStart
Here are the eligibility criteria for the YouStart initiative programme. The following categories of youth will be targeted.
- Between the ages of 18 to 40 years
- Minimum of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
- Willingness to start a business
- School dropouts already in a business would be considered
- Special attention would be given to women and Persons with Disabilities (PWD)

You will need the following documents/information to complete your application:
- Digital Address
- Valid National ID Card preferably “Ghana Card”
- Certificate of the most recent education attained
- Valid mobile number
