The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is committed to providing bursaries and loans to eligible and deserving students who require financial assistance. The myNSFAS 2025 online applications are officially open.

About NSFAS Online Application

Here’s what you need to know or do before you start the NSFAS online application.

  • First things first; Create your myNSFAS profile
  • Prepare your supporting documents
  • Ensure all gadgets are functional and ready to complete the online application process.
  • Don’t share your login or personal details with anyone.
  • You can only apply via the NSFAS Application Portal.
  • Applying for NSFAS funding is free, never agree to pay anyone to help you with the application.
  • All applications are handled equally and there is no fee required to Fast track NSFAS application status.
  • NSFAS funding is for all South Africans who meet the funding criteria.

NSFAS will also host live application activations at identified schools in all 9 Provinces. NSFAS officials will be deployed to help learners and out-of-school youth apply for NSFAS funding.

Eligibility for NSFAS Funding?

You qualify for NSFAS funding if you meet the following eligible criteria:

  • South African citizens or permanent residents from homes with a combined gross household income should not exceed R350 000 per annum.
  • Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined gross household income does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
  • SASSA recipients automatically qualify for finding and need not submit any proof of income.
  • The NSFAS Loan Scheme for The Missing Middle
  • The NSFAS loan scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined incomes. between R350 001 and R600 000 per annum.
