The University of the Western Cape – UWC enrolls students via online registration of courses. Before you begin your academic year at UWC, you will need to complete your registration with the University. Registration can be completed online via your UWC Student Portal.
UWC Online Academic Registration of Courses
To complete your online registration, follow the steps below and ensure that you have made a payment of the upfront tuition fee. The amount stated above includes the registration fee and the first installment of your tuition fees.
Students who are NSFAS recipients or who have been pre-approved for the Government SASA SRD R350 Grant do not need to make an upfront payment or pay the Registration fee.

- Access the Online Student Portal
- Enter your Student Number
- Select your Identification Type (South African ID Number or your Passport Number)
- Input your Identification Number selected above
- Tap on the Submit button
- Navigate to the Main Menu (i.e Registration page)
- Tap on “Select modules for registration”
- Verify registration information (NB: Check to see if all your details are correct.)
- Tap “Start” to select module combinations
- Use the “Auto select” function to automatically add all failed and compulsory modules to your registration
- Select Failed modules (if any), Select Compulsory modules, Select Elective modules (if any)
- Validate module selection
- Check the cost of study fees
- Accept the terms and conditions
