With the University of Derby Blackboard, you have access to announcements from your tutor, key dates, module information, and reference guides. Discover how to get your educational support via the Student Finance Scheme.
University of Derby Blackboard provides a one-stop shop for all your course materials. Depending on your module, it may also be used for the following:

Items Accessible with the University of Derby Blackboard
Institution Page
When first logging in to the University’s Blackboard you will arrive on the Institution Page of Base Navigation. Here you will find links to important information, support, and guidance as well as direct links to our other tools e.g. PebblePad, Padlet, Mentimeter as well as Student Webpages.
Courses and Modules
Selecting the Courses and Modules link from the left-hand Base Navigation menu will display the list of courses and modules on which you are enrolled. Click on the name to open and view the
Profile Page
Selecting your name from the left-hand menu on Base Navigation will open your profile page. Please take a moment to hover and select the pencil icon that appears next to certain fields, such as; your profile image, pronunciations, pronouns, and notifications.
Activity Stream
The Activity Stream offers a consolidation of all the most important information and activities across all courses and modules you are enrolled on see what’s new, what is due, and what needs attention.
Marks
This link will display a summary for each module course site with what has been marked or what is due to be submitted.
How to Login the University of Derby Blackboard
- Access the University of Derby Blackboard login page
- Type in the username
- Click on the “Next” button to proceed
- Type in the Password
- Click on the “Sign in” button to proceed
- Click on the Blackboard (Course Resources) tile
- You will be redirected to the main page
How to sign in University of Derby Blackboard App
- Download the Blackboard online via the app store of your device, The Blackboard app has a pencil icon
- After downloading open the app
- Select the ‘University of Derby‘ field, delete the text within the box and re-enter ‘University of Derby’ and then select the option that displays for the University of Derby.
- Select the Web Login button to proceed
