The University of Ghana – UG Legon community, particularly students at the residential hall are to take note of the following regarding student residency in University-managed hall, as decided at the Residence Board meeting held on December 7, 2021;
University-Managed Halls: 2021/2022 Academic Year
- Students who were in residency in University-managed halls prior to the 2020/2021 academic year will continue to maintain residency until completion of their programmes of study.
- Students who were offered accommodation during the 2020/2021 academic year are to note that, as stated in their Residential Allocation letters, residency in the University-managed halls is for one academic year only, subject to re-application and balloting.
- As a result of the modular system introduced during the 2020/2021 academic year, to restrict the number of students on campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many non-residential students were allocated accommodation in University-managed halls. With students returning as a single cohort in the 2021/2022 academic year, such students, who wish to have on-campus accommodation, will have to re-apply and ballot for beds.
- Students from the University of Ghana Medical and Dental Schools who were granted a special concession for residency, as a result of the structure of their academic calendar, will also be bound by the clauses above as applicable.
- Students should note that payment for Residential Facility User Fee (RFUF) should only be made after allocation of accommodation.
- Modalities for balloting for beds will be announced ahead of the start of the academic year.
