University of Cape Coast – UCC Admissions

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for admission into undergraduate, Postgraduate, Sandwich, and Diploma programmes under various departments and faculty at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

NB: Postgraduate, 5-Semester, 3-Semester Top-up and distance UCC Admission Portal is also open admission into 2024/2025 academic year.

Applicants are advised to read the application instructions and UCC Requirements/Cut-Off Points very carefully before completing the online application form. Aspirants are to note that, the following UCC programmes are available for 2024/2025 academic year.

How to Apply via the UCC Admission Portal

Follow the step-by-step guide to complete the UCC online application form

  1. Purchase an e-voucher from any of the vendors listed above. State emphatically whether you wish to apply for undergraduate or postgraduate.
  2. Go to UCC Application Portal
  3.  Select Mode of Entry and indicate your entry type (i.e. Post WASSCE/SSCE, Post Diploma, Matured … etc).
  4. Enter your Serial Number and PIN on the voucher obtained at the bank
  5. Tap Submit to start applying
  6. Fill out the application form and attach your passport picture. The applicant’s passport picture should be in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif format and must not exceed 100KB in size. Make sure you upload a picture showing your face clearly.
  7. Tap the SAVE AND CONTINUE LATER button will save your application for editing later.
  8. Tap the SUBMIT AND PRINT button will submit the form and generate a reference number which will be sent to the phone number you specified. (Make sure you provide correct information before submitting the form. Changes after form submission are not allowed).
  9. Click logout to leave the page.

NB: On subsequent login, you will be sent to a tracking page where you can track and print the application form you filled out.

UCC Awaiting Admission Form

Following the release of the WASSCE results by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), all awaiting results applicants to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) are to login application portal with their e-voucher details to update their choice of programmes. New applications are still welcome within the period.

Persons who applied earlier are to note that the lists of successful applicants are available at admissionlist.ucc.edu.gh, Applicants are encouraged to visit the link to print their admission letters

UCC Fee-Paying Applicants

Fee-paying facilities are available for candidates/applicants who are unable to meet the competitive cut-off points determined by the Joint Admissions Committee.

Applicants who wish to be considered may complete and attach the fee-paying forms (available at the sales centres or downloaded from the university’s admissions portal) to their printed online application forms.  Such candidates shall be required to meet the minimum admission requirements. Copies of last year’s cut-off points for the various programmes are available at the sales centres and the University’s website for applicants’ guidance.

Practical Examinations for B.Ed (Physical Education) Candidates

SSSCE/WASSCE candidates applying for B.Ed (Physical Education) should hold themselves in readiness for a practical examination.  The date for this examination will be communicated in due course.

Submission of Copies of Completed UCC Online Application Forms

  • One copy of the completed online application forms with copies of results slips should be sent by POST and NOT delivered by hand.
  • Copies of the completed online application forms should reach the Director, Directorate of Academic Affairs (DAA), the University of Cape Coast before the deadline.
  • Applicants are to ensure that application forms are posted early enough to be received before the deadline for submission as forms received after the deadline will not be processed.

Applicants are required to provide the following information at the back of the large EMS envelope:

  • Application reference number
  • Full name
  • Postal address
  • First choice programme

The application category should be one of the following:

  • SSSCE/WASSCE or Post-Diploma or Post First Degree or OTHER (to be specified by applicant).
  • Applications on which APPLICATION REFERENCE NUMBERS are not indicated will not be processed.

Here are the most important things you need to know about UCC Admissions

  1. No additional documents will be accepted after the submission of completed application forms. Applicants are to note that only photocopies of certificates or result slips should accompany completed application forms.
  2. Original certificates/result slips of applicants offered admission will be inspected before registration. The documents accompanying the application forms are not returnable.
  3. Persons awaiting WASSCE results MUST select the “Awaiting Results” option before providing their examination details.
  4. Those who already have results SHOULD NOT select the “Awaiting Results” option but rather go ahead to verify their results.
  5. Application forms received without Application Reference Numbers, a copy of WASSCE/SSSCE results slip, or transcripts, in the case of Post-Diploma and other applicants, will not be processed (this does not apply to awaiting results applicants).
  6. A change of programme after the submission of application forms will NOT be allowed.
