TUT Student Mobile Data

Learn how Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students register and update their cellphone numbers to access the Student Mobile Data. To get started, register for your courses online.

All registered Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students must update their cellphone numbers for the device on which they intend to use TUT-provided data.

  1. MTN and Vodacom accept data on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  2. Telkom only accepts data on Tuesdays
  3. CellC accepts data on Thursdays
  4. It can take up to five (5) days before data is allocated.

How to Register for TUT Student Mobile Data

To get your Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) student mobile data, follow this process to register your number on the TUT ITS iEnabler.

  1. Log in to the TUT iEnabler Portal
  2. Navigate to the Menu tab on the top right corner (Mobile Device)
  3. Go to the Student Web dashboard
  4. Select “STUDENT MOBILE DATA” in the menu
  5. A new item called “Communication Detail” will open below “STUDENT MOBILE DATA”
  6. Tap to access the Communication Detail Form

If this is the first time registering your “MOBILE DATA CELL NUMBER”

  1. Tap on the “New Record” button
  2. A new form with three fields will be opened to enter the Mobile Data Number

Communication Type (Click on the magnifying glass icon)

  • Select the “MD” on the “MD: Mobile Data Cell Number” record

Details (Enter your Contact Details (device number) in the following format)

  • 0821234567
  • No spaces, brackets, or alpha-numerical characters

Internet Service Provider (Click on the magnifying glass icon)

  1. Select your Internet Service Provider from the list (MTN, Vodacom, CellC, and Telkom)
  2. Tap on Save to Continue

Your number will now be saved and should be displayed on the screen. To modify your number, you can click on the “MOBILE DATA CELL NUMBER” entry in the list.
