The Ghana Police Service (GPS) will from today Wednesday, August 7, 2024 offer, recruitment opportunities to interested and qualified Ghanaians who expressed interest and applied to join the service in 2021.
The available categories are General Duty Recruits and Graduate General Duty.
Persons who applied in the 2021 recruitment exercise and are still interested and qualified should submit the following details:
- Full Name
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Reference number/tracking number/PIN as of 2021
- Current Phone number
- Current email address
- Previous screening center
- Qualification

All APPLICANTS must satisfy the general requirements as stated below:
General Requirements for Ghana Police Service
An applicant must:
- Be a Ghanaian by birth;
- Be of good character,
- Be without criminal record;
- Not have been dismissed from any public service or any other employment:
- Not be less than 18 years and not more than 28 years;
- Be at least 5 feet 8 inches (173cm) tall for males and 5 feet 4 inches (163cm) for females;
- Be physically and medically fit by Ghana Police Service standards;
- Have been in possession of a minimum of five passes in SSCE/WASSCE including Mathematics and English as of 01/12/2021
- Be ready to undergo basic Police training and other forms of training.
Graduate General Duty
Degree holder: In addition to the general requirements an applicant
- Must not be more than 35 years
- Must have had a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree at least Second-Class Lower Division) from any recognized university as of 01/12/2021
HND holder: – In addition to the general requirements, an applicant
- Must not be more than 35 years
- Must have had an HND in any field of study from a recognized Polytechnic or any Tertiary Institution accredited by the Ghana Accreditation Board as of 01/12/2021
Diploma holders: In addition to the general requirements, an applicant
- Must not be more than 35 years
- Must have had a Diploma in any field of study from a recognized, Polytechnic or any Tertiary Institution accredited by the Ghana Accreditation Board as of 01/12/2021
NB: Ensure the above-required information is accurate, certifications are valid, and no physical submission of application forms shall be accepted.
Enlistment Process
- Successful applicants will be contacted for the next phase of the exercise.
- This will be followed by body selection and inspection of all relevant documents including birth certificates, academic certificates, and transcripts. Applicants who qualify from this stage to the next stage shall be notified at the screening center
- Successful applicants shall undergo medical examination and thorough background checks. Vetting of certificates shall be conducted throughout the process and may continue during and after training
- An applicant who successfully goes through all the stages above and is found not to have any undesirable background/criminal record at this stage would be invited to commence training.
- Transportation/Feeding/Accommodation: Applicants are responsible for their transportation, feeding, and accommodation throughout the recruitment exercise
- Applicants will bear the cost associated with the vetting and medical examination.
