Orbit TVET College Online Application Procedure for New Students
It is mandatory for all new students to create a learner profiler and write a Placement Assessment Test which is completed online. Placement assessment is a selection and placement tool, it does not test your IQ.
Apply online from home on your personal computer via the Orbit TVET College Online Application Portal.
It is mandatory to capture school-leaving subjects for all new applicants.
All new students must apply for an NSFAS bursary first by accessing the NSFAS Portal.
Required Documents
The below documentation will be required of you when you make an application. All applicants must have a
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your latest results
- If you are dependent on your parents/guardian/spouse, please provide:
- Certified ID copies of parent/s, guardian, spouse
If you have a disability, please provide:
- Medical proof of your condition
- Completed and signed disability Annexure A (if your information is not pre-populated on the portal)
Foreign students: (Documents must not be older than 3 months)
- Certified copies of passport
- SAQA-approved foreign qualification
- Proof of medical insurance or cover
- Valid study permit
All documents will become the property of the College once submitted. If documents are not in English they must be accompanied by a certified translation in English
You will be required to upload your supporting documents (ID or passport and matric results) on the system.
How to Create an Orbit TVET College Learner Profiler
To apply for admission at Orbit TVET College, an applicant will first have to complete a pre-entry placement assessment online.
- Go to Orbit College Website
- Navigate to Enrolment
- Scroll and tap on Placement Assessment
- Create a learner profiler
- Login as a returning user
You will be required to explore the careers that are most suited to your future. Once you have completed the questionnaire, click around and explore the careers. Your results will be e-mailed to you.
- Complete all modules

Start your Orbit TVET College online academic application process by answering the questions below, and continue with the steps until the system generates a student number.

- Do you already have a student number? Select No | If Yes Apply Here
- Returning to complete application: Select No
- Read the Application Rules and tick I Accept
- Fill in your biographical details (e South African Identify the number, Personal info, street address, contact, residence, and disability info)
- Enter Account details
- Input Next of kin details
- Academic details
- Select programme of choice
- Create your 5-digit PIN (Should NOT start/end with Zero and Must NOT include repeated numbers)
- Print a copy of the application for your records before you submit it online
- Upload required document
- The student number is generated
NB: Applicants are required to keep the Student Number and 5-digit PIN to enable them to retrieve their admission letter or check admission status.
During the online application process, you may save and return at a later stage to resume the application process.
After successful submission and completion of your online application, you can login Orbit TVET College Student Portal to access/view your application details.

- Login Orbit TVET College Student Portal
- Enter your Student Number and PIN
- Tap on the Login button
- Tap on Academic Application
- Enter Previous Qualification (Not Mandatory)
- View and Accept Application Rules
- Submit Application (Click on the Search button and put the qualification code)
- Tap on the qualification to proceed with your application.
- Enter qualification Study Choices
- Save and Continue
- Application Detail: Click Accept application

Steps to Upload Supporting Document
Follow these steps to upload supporting documents via the Orbit Online Application Portal
- Login Orbit TVET College Student Portal
- Login as a Student using your Student Number and PIN
- Go to Student Enquiry
- Go to Certificate Seen
- Choose the type of document you want to upload and
- Click on Load/View Document
- Upload the document
In Summary
- If you are a student from another college, and you wish to continue your studies with ORBIT you will be required to upload all your results from your previous institution and a transfer letter.
- A selection committee will review your application and academic records. The selection criteria are available on the College website.
- If you meet the requirements, you will be notified via an SMS, alternatively, check your status on the i-enabler system under “Review Application Status” whether you have been provisionally accepted or rejected. Make sure that the contact number you provide is valid.
- Once your application has been finally approved you will receive an SMS alternatively check your status on the i-enabler portal under “Review Application Status” indicating that your application has been successful. No final approvals will be done during the application process.
- The status of your application will be dependent on your latest results and the College selection criteria.
- Provisional acceptance does not guarantee you space as you will only be considered registered. Once you have received proof of registration from the system.
