The Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC), the regulator of the Nursing and Midwifery Professions in Ghana would like to inform the general public that, starting Friday, August 2, 2024, the Online Licensing Examination of the Council has commenced and will continue till August 21, 2024.
The conduct of the Licensing Examinations is in line with the mandate of the N&MC as enshrined in Section 55(g) of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act 2013, (Act 857); “conduct licensing examination for registration of nurses, midwives, and nurse assistants”.
The Licensing Examination is being conducted for all cadre of Student Nurses and Midwives admitted into Nursing and Midwifery Training Institutions accredited by the N&MC. All candidates have successfully gone through their respective training programmes following the regulatory standards of the Council. The Licensing Examination of the N&MC is also a gatekeeping mechanism that assures the public that all licensed Nurses and Midwives are competent to provide safe and efficient nursing and midwifery services.
A total of 23,037 candidates will participate in the Licensing Examinations at 91 centers across the country.
N&MC assures all candidates of its unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and fairness in the examination process. Your success is our priority and we are leaving no stone unturned to guarantee a credible and transparent assessment.
Note that your integrity and hard work are your greatest asset – do not let dishonest schemes jeopardize your future. Stay vigilant and rely only on official sources for study materials. Beware of fraudulent individuals seeking to exploit you with false promises of exam shortcuts or leaked materials. Report any such suspicious activity to the Council immediately.
The N&MC is also urging all Invigilators and Examiners to conduct themselves with utmost professionalism and integrity during the Licensing Examinations. Any compromise on examination standards will not be tolerated.
