Here’s a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to apply for a Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) Student Loan.
- Go to NELFUND Website
- Navigate to Create an Account
- Tap on Apply Now to “Get Started”
- Confirm if you are a Nigerian citizen
- Provide your Educational Information (School and Matriculation Number)
- Tap to “Verify with JAMB”
- Enter your JAMB details
Create an account with your email address and password. You will need to confirm the password in the fields provided and click “Create Account.” Follow the email verification link sent to your email.
- Access NELFUND Student Loan Portal
- Log in using your Email and Password
- Update your Contact Details (your phone number, residential address, state of residence, and local government area of residence)
- Tap “Proceed to Educational Details.”
- Update your educational details by selecting your institution and entering your matriculation number
- Click “Proceed to Account Details.”
- Verify your Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Select your Bank Name
- Enter your Account Number
- Tap “Save changes” to complete your profile
- Tap on “Request for Student Loan”
- Indicate if you need an upkeep allowance in addition to tuition fees
- Click “Continue” if all you need is the institutional charge.
- Upload your Admission Letter (compulsory), while uploading your student ID and institution invoice is optional.
- Tick to Agree to the terms and conditions
- Click “Continue.”
- Review the loan overview and agree to the terms & conditions and GSI mandate.
- Click “Submit Application.”
