MMDCEs Shortlisted Applicants – 2021

The vetting committee on the MMDCEs appointment has released a reports on shortlisted applicant of  Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

Recruitment into security services will be based on merit – Gov’t

The official position of the presidency on the delay in appointing MMDCEs has been that it is not hampering development at the local government level.

Speaking on the delay, the President said “there is the need for broad consultations and that is what I have done. We have set up committees at the regional and national levels to make recommendations for me.”

“I have to really make sure the recommendations fit the political purposes of the government and respond to issues of competence, political suitability and all of these things.”

The appointment of MMDCEs is the sole preserve of the President, per Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution.

At the moment, the government has been criticised for the lack of progress in appointing new MMDCEs eight months into a new administration.

AHAFO REGION – MMDCES

ASUNAFO NORTH MUNICIPALITY

The Committee recommend Mr. Yaw Osei-Boahen for renomination as MCE. All accounts suggest Mr. Osei-Boahen, performed creditably well as MCE. He comes from Mim and has extensive experience working as polling station chairman, polling agent, and constituency chairman for the party. He is also a two-term Assembly member for the Mim-Dome Electoral Area. He holds B-Com in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Cape Coast.

ASUNAFO SOUTH DISTRICT

The committee recommend Mr. Osei Bonsu for renomination as DCE.

Mr. Osei Bonsu comes to the role with significant experience as DCE, community, and party activist. He was a former constituency organizer and chairman, and constituency campaign Manager. He is a teacher and District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).

His renomination will promote stability and the steady growth of the district.

The Committee recommends Mr. Anthony Mensah for renomination as DCE. The DCE is the best among the shortlisted applicants. He is effective and enjoys a cordial relationship with the constituency and polling station executives. Also, he played a significant role in the campaigns and supported reconciliation efforts between supporters of Joseph Daha Benhazin, former MP for the area, and Patrick Banor, incumbent MP, following a division and tension after the 2020 parliamentary primaries. Also, he played a leading role to discourage the threat of “skirt and blouse” voting by supporters of the Daha Benhazin in Ntotroso.

He is a former Research and Elections Officer for the constituency.

Mr. Mensah holds a BA of Education in English from Catholic University and MA in Public Administration from KNUST.

ASUTIFI SOUTH DISTRICT

The Committee recommends Mr. Robert Dwomoh Mensah for renomination as DCE.

Mr. Mensah appears to be a match in the district to contain the excesses of Hon. Collins Dauda. Robert Dwomoh Mensah was supportive in the elections and has good relations with the party executives.

He is a former Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme between 2008 and 2009.

His renomination will among other things ensure continuity and party growth in a difficult constituency.

He holds BA in Political Science with Linguistics and MBA from GIMPA.

The committee recommends Mr. Ernest Kwarteng for renomination as MCE.

He appears to have the support of the traditional leaders and party executives for renomination. He is a former polling station chairman and constituency financial secretary. Given his experience as MCE and the reported support of key stakeholders, his renomination would benefit the district’s development drive.

He holds MSc in Industrial Mathematics, KNUST, and B.Ed. Mathematics, University College of Education, Winneba.

TANO SOUTH MUNICIPALITY

The committee recommends Mr. Offinam Takyi for renomination as MCE.

The applicant was instrumental in the 2020 elections campaign and supported the MP/PC to increase the vote balance of the party. He has served in the following roles—former Assembly-member for the Dwomo East Electoral Area, polling station youth organizer, and financial secretary for the party.

He has demonstrated commitment to community development and his re-nomination would yield dividends for the people and the NPP.

He holds B.Ed. Population and Family Life Education and an MBA, both from the University of Cape Coast.

He was the constituency secretary from 2018 to date, the electoral area coordinator from 2013 to 2018, and a polling station chairman from 2009 to 2013. He served as a polling station agent in the 2016 general elections.

He holds an MBA from KNUST and BA in Economics and Sociology from UCC.

He understands the development challenges of the area and he is in touch with the people. He has been a constant member of the campaign teams from 2012 through to 2020.

He was the Constituency Chairman from 2013 to 2017. He was also an Assembly member for Kyeremanso –Ahenboboano Electoral Area from 2010 to 2014. He was a member of the 2020 Campaign Team.

He holds MA in Theology, Emmanuel Bible Institute, MSc in Industrial Mathematics, KNUST, and B.E.D in Science, Physics from the University of Education, Winneba.

He is the assistant constituency secretary and a former deputy constituency organizer from 2014 to 2018.

He was the constituency chairman from 2009 to 2016 and a presiding member of the Berekum Municipal Assembly from 2006-2008.

He has in-depth knowledge in both party and local government administration. His nomination will unify the feuding factions in the constituency. There are so many internal conflicts in the constituency party especially between the MCE and the PC, which may have contributed to the party’s defeat in the 2020 general elections.

Mr. Akone is the current constituency secretary, the research and elections officer from 2013 to 2017, and a former Polling Station Chairman from 1997 to 2008.

He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Valley View University, BA in Management Studies from UCC, and HND in Marketing from Koforidua Technical University.

Mr. Akati is the current Regional Youth Organizer. He is a very brilliant youthful person who has managed the Savannah youth front well. He does not belong to any faction in the ensuing turf-war in his constituency. He is seen as a unifier.

The current DCE has issues with almost all of the constituency executives. She is seen as fueling discord in the district/constituency. Given the chance, Mr. Akati could foster unity to improve conditions for the district/constituency.

He holds MA in Business Administration in Leadership and Management from KNUST and BSc in Agricultural Technology from the University of Development Studies.

CENTRAL GONJA DISTRICT

Mr. Ahmadu Zakaria is a grassroots supporter of the party and has an in-depth knowledge of the constituency. He is a three-time constituency secretary for the constituency; a polling station secretary from 1992-1996, and a Zonal Coordinator from 1996-2008.  He believes in consensus politics, a trait that will promote peace, development, and ultimately the fortunes of the party. He has considerable experience in the public sector having worked as the Marketing Officer for YEA and District Manager for NHIS.

He holds BA in Management from the University of Cape Coast and an MA in Public Administration from KNUST.

EAST GONJA MUNICIPAL

The committee recommends Mr. Zakaria Iddi for nomination as MCE. The party is divided into factions in the constituency. Mr. Zakaria Iddi is a neutral person whose nomination may stem the tide and eventually unify the district/constituency for development.

The Osafo Marfo and National Security reports recommend the removal of the current MCE. Mr. Zakaria Iddi’s temperament and experience appear to be the ideal replacement.

He was the liaison officer for the creation of the new region, a party agent in 2000, a collation agent in 2004, 2008, and 2012 general elections, and a member of the 2020 campaign team.

Mr. Zakaria Iddi is a PhD candidate in Social Forestry and Environmental Governance from the University of Energy and Natural Resources; MSc in Local Economic Development from KNUST; and BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana.

He is currently the patron for Salaga North Constituency and a member of the 2020, 2012, and 2016 campaign teams.

He is a Registered Midwife from Goaso Midwifery Training and a Health Assistant, Damango Nursing Training College.

NORTH GONJA DISTRICT

The committee recommends Mr. Adam Eliasu for renomination as DCE. He performed very well, and his renomination may be beneficial for the district.

He holds a BA in Economics and Information from the University of Ghana and a MA in Local Economic Development from the Institute of Local Government.

The committee also humbly recommends the appointment of a perceived leader in the Tampilma community, a two-time parliamentary candidate for the party, and immediate past deputy regional minister, Mr. Samuel Tika, to a position to appease the minority Tampilma group. This community tends to vote for the NPP. In the 2020 general elections, they voted over 60% for the party.

He is driven, youthful and embodies the ambitions of the people. His expressed vision includes attracting investment to West Mamprusi.

He has held various positions in the party namely—polling station agent, member of elections campaign Team, TESCON Vice President, and TESCON President.

He holds an MSc in Development Planning and Management from KNUST and BA in Integrated Development Studies from the University of Development Studies.

He was among other things served as the constituency secretary, constituency communications director, collation agent in 2016, Party Agent as well as Chairman for NPP Mamprugu Youth Network in 2016.

He holds BSc in Renewable Natural Resources Management from KNUST.

The committee recommends Mr. Konlan Bitian for nomination as DCE.

Kolan is seen as a unifier, one who could foster a good relationship between the Kokombas and Mamprusis. He currently holds a position as the constituency organizer and campaigned vigorously for the success of the party in the 2020 general elections. His hard work won for the party 13 out of the 14 polling stations in the Bimoba Zone assigned to him.

He holds BA in Education and Diploma in Basic Education from the University of Cape Coast.

The committee recommends Mr. Zakaria Abubakari Saddiq for nomination as MCE.

He eloquently explained how he can help maintain peace and security in the Municipality. He helped the MP in various ways during the 2020 elections in which the MP has acknowledged. He was the collation officer in the 2020 elections. Mr. Sadiq provided much of the logistics needed for the collation center. He adopted several youth groups and polling stations in the constituency. He is also a TESCON Patron for the University of Education.

He is a PhD candidate in Mathematics, at UDS.  He holds an MBA in IT Management from Paris Graduate School of Management; and an M.Ed. in Mathematics from the University of Winneba.

NANTON DISTRICT

The committee recommends Abdulai Murtada for nomination as DCE. He has the vision of consolidating the gains of the party by building a strong relationship between the MP, DCE, constituency executives, and the traditional leaders.  He has worked actively for the party since 2000. He campaigned well for the MP and the Party.  He is presently the constituency secretary, a former research officer, and an electoral area coordinator. He is the Assembly Member for Nantong Limam Fong.

He holds BA in Education from the University of Education, Winneba.

The committee recommends Mr. Iddrisu Mohammed Saani for nomination as DCE. Mr. Iddrisu Mohammed Saani expressed a vision to work with all stakeholders to fight extreme poverty and promote development. He referred to introducing modern farming techniques, education, and improve healthcare access as measures he will prioritize.  He expressed himself very well and showed detailed knowledge of the issues confronting the district/constituency party.

He served the party from his school days as a TESCON Secretary at Bimbila Training College. He was the zonal coordinator and finance committee member of the 2020 general elections campaign.

He holds a BSc in Statistics from UDS and Diploma in Basic Education from E.P. College of Education, Bimbilla.

The committee recommends Mr. Fuseini Salifu Issifu Moshie for nomination as DCE.

Mr. Fuseini Salifu Issifu appears to understand the challenges facing the district/constituency compare with the other applicants. He is a long-standing member of the party. He presents himself as a father figure to party members in the Nyaankpala Zone, a zone with the highest number of polling stations in the constituency. He defended the party in the Nyaankpala zone at the height of the chieftaincy disputes.

Due to his perseverance and hard work, the party increased its votes in the 2020 general elections in the Nyaankpala zone.

Mr. Fusheini was a member of the 2020 general elections campaign team and secretary to the Chiefs and Traditional Leaders Committee.

He holds a Certificate in Agriculture from Ejura Agricultural College.

Mr. Yussif Zakaria demonstrated considerable knowledge of local government issues when he appeared before the committee. He also has a good understanding of the grassroots dynamics of the party and how to tackle them. His drive and commitment to the party were unaffected when he was not chosen as the DCE in 2017.

He was a member of the 2020 general elections campaign team. Mr. Yussif has served as the constituency secretary.

In 2013, he stepped down as Secretary in the interest of peace.

He holds M.A in Communication Studies and BA in Management Studies, both from the University of Cape Coast.

NANUMBA NORTH MUNICIPALITY

The committee recommends Mr. Abdulai Yakubu for re-nomination as MCE.

Mr. Abdulai Yakubu worked well with the tripod, and that contributed to the relative peace and effective collaboration with the party executives and MP.

His doors were always opened to all. He worked hard to ensure that the party did not only win the seat but also increase its vote share.

He holds BBA in Human Resource Management from Laweh Open University College and Dip. In Finance and Accounting.

The committee recommends Mr. James Cecil Yanwube for nomination as DCE. He is a former MP for the constituency. He mobilized the Basara voters for the 2020 general elections, and the result shows an increased vote outturn for the party.

He visited the constituency every month to campaign for the party. He is seen as the father in the Basara community.  His nomination will achieve tribal balance, given that, the MP is a Konkomba.

He holds ACCA qualification and an MBA from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, London.

SAGNARIGU MUNICIPALITY

The committee recommends Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed for nomination as MCE.

Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed contributed to the 2020 general elections. He knows the constituencies that constitute the municipality. He is seen by all groups and stakeholders as an objective and hardworking person. He enjoys the support of the chiefs, the youth, and the majority of the party executives from the two constituencies.

He has served the party in the following roles—

Polling station chairman, research, and research and elections officer (verify from the CV) in Sagnarigu.

He holds MPhil in Innovation Communication from UDS and B.Ed. in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Education, Winneba.

ZABZUGU DISTRICT

The committee recommends Mr. Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu for renomination as MCE.

Mr. Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu is the current DCE. He did well with the management of the tripod. His inter-personal relationship attracted more people to the party, a key contributor to the constituency’s success in the general elections. He is a regular visitor to the district to interact with the people. He demonstrated skills and knowledge of the local government system and related development issues.

Mr. Ahmed was a member of the Northern Region Communications Team and a patron of TESCON in Bagabaga College of Education

He holds M.Ed. in English and B.Ed. in English, both from the University of Cape Coast.

SAVELUGU MUNICIPALITY

He has good relationship with the Electoral Commission, the constituency executives and other key stakeholders in the District. Therefore maintaining him will help to promote the interest and build the party.

The committee further recommends that Rita Yaloonaa Bayor should be groomed for leadership responsibility in the country as she has a great potential.

The old DCE was an arm-chair person who did a poor job on marketing the party. He was not visible in the constituency.

JIRAPA  DISTRICT

The incumbent MCE has contributed extensively to the disunity in the party at the constituency. She controls a faction of the constituency executive has contributed a lot of problems. To maintain the incumbent MCE will deepen the factionalism in the constituency.

Mr. Naluri George Gerard is the current Constituency Secretary.  He is a Teacher and he is currently pursuing MA in Development Economic, UDS. He also holds BA in Economics, KNUST; 2009-2013. He also did HND in Statistics and Computer Science, Kumasi Polytechnic; 2002-2005).

He represents the appropriate geopolitical strata of the constituency that is the Sissala ethic group. His Sissala linage will help him to mobilize the Sissala zones of the constituency. He seeks to improve the relationship between the Party and Government. He has strong support of his Member of Parliament for his ability to mobilize based on his contribution to the 20202 Parliamentary and Presidential Campaign.

Clara Diaka on has huge potential which should be nurtured for the growth of the party in the constituency. The incumbent DCE has unresolved issues with the Member of Parliament thus his reappointment will create further problems in the constituency. The incumbent DCE contributions to the party are very woeful. He has unresolved issues with various stakeholders

NANDOM DISTRICT

The committee recommends Mr. Nero Raymond to be nominated as the DCE. The committee received one application from Nandom District Assembly. Mr. Nero Raymond is the Constituency Secretary. He knows the constituency well. He is a very good mobilizer. He has the support of the entire constituency executive and the Member of Parliament.

LAWRA MUNICIPAL

1. Bomba-Ire Martin Domotiere

The committee decided that the incumbent Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Bomba-Ire Martin Domotiere is recommended to be renominated for the MCE position. The former District Manager of National Health Insurance had a very close relationship with the Member of Parliament.

He works well with the constituency executive to promote the interest of the party in the district. He contributed to mobilize the constituents, but challenges associated with internal cohesion within the party as well as the ability of the National Democratic Congress to unite with one objective hampered the gains made.

He holds Master of Arts in Human Resource Management, UCC; 2008-2010.

NADOWLI-KALEO

The committee recommend Mr. Dambia Osbert to be nominated for the DCE position. He worked very well for the party during the 2020 election. He has fantastic knowledge of the local government system.

He also knows the dynamics of the constituency. He is the Presiding Member of Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly. He is the Vice Principal of Wa Technical Institute, a former Constituency Organizer and Regional Research Officer.

He has extensive managerial and administrative skills to help manage the Assembly. He is also a strong organizer who can mobilize the constituency to increase the fortunes of the party. He holds Med Educational Administration and Management, U.E.W; 2010-2010. He also holds Bed in Mathematics, U.E.W; 2001-2005.

The Incumbent DCE had strain relationship with the constituency executives. Her support to the arty was very poor. She never had a structured means of supporting the party in the last four years.

Mr. Fuseini Yakubu Bantong is a Patron of the Party and a professional Teacher. He is the Regional Director for Non-Formal Education and two term constituency chairmen. He has impeccable knowledge about the District Assembly system.

He contributed extensively to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary campaign. He has the support of the Member of Parliament. He campaigned vigorously during the 2020 elections. He is seen as a unifier to the factions in the constituency. He relates and gels well with all stakeholders in the constituency.

He is a two time constituency chairman (2009-2018). Also a former Constituency Financial Secretary (2004-2008). He is a Member of the Council of Elders (2018-date).

He holds BA in Education, UCC; 2005-2007. He also holds Diploma in Basic Education, UCC; 2002-2005.

Mr. Benin Sulemani former constituency secretary requires nurturing for future leadership for the party.

The Committee recommend Madam Ayisha Imoro Batong Hor to be nominated for the DCE position.  She is Banker who manages micro finance across the entire constituency. She also has previously contributed to the fortunes of the party.

She was part of the 2020 Campaign Team. She is also a government appointee to the assembly.

She holds BSc in Commerce (Accounting Option), UCC; 2011-2013. She also holds Diploma in Commerce, UCC; 2005-2008. Additionally, she holds Diploma in Business Studies.

ALSO: Salifu Naliwie Baluwie, who was the 2020 PC, has a great leadership potential and should be nurtured.  Unfortunately, he is connected to one of the factions in the constitution.

WA EAST

Dr. Ewurah Suleman Kandia Mahama is recommended to be nominated for the DCE position. He was Coordinator of the 2020 campaign. He is currently the Presiding Member of the Wa East District Assembly. His demonstration of impeccable knowledge and understandings of local development politics makes him the suitable candidate for the position of the DCE. He is the Presiding Member of the district assembly. He is loved by all in the constituency. The different ethnic groups all see him as a unifier to the factions in the constituency.

His ethnic group Chakale is very important in the context of the geopolitics of the constituency – that is the Wala and Sissala politics. Dr. Mahama is a very strong mobilizer which is critically needed in the constituency.

He holds PhD in Electronic Government, Huazhong University of Science And Technology, China; 2017. He holds MSc in Public Administration, Huazhong University of Science And Technology; 2011.

WA MUNICIPAL

The incumbent MCE’s contribution to the 2020 Parliamentary elections limited. He is part of the faction in the constituency problem.

The committee recommend Mr. Bukari Ali to be nominated for DCE. He was the party Communication Director. He comes to the job with strong leadership to drive the development of the party and Central Government agenda.

He is the Communicator Director; 2018-date. He was also a member of the 2020 Regional Campaign Team Member. He was also a polling station secretary (Naha Prim. Sch.); 2006-2010.

He holds HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies, Sunyani Polytechnic; 2007-2010.

The incumbent DCE was the center of various confusions that confronted the party in the first term. Retaining him will embolden him to continue to continue the destruction of the party in the constituency.

The committee further recommends Diana Aduko Aburiya Asuure for another portfolio in an event that she’s not selected, and Mr. Cletus Innocent Ayambire for the Regional NHIS Director if he’s not chosen for this position. Both candidates have served the party well in different capacities and are unifiers who can bring in new ideas to advance the party.

Diana Asuure is grassroots, self-motivated, ambitious, and a team player who relates well and draws people. People in the constituency refer to her as the peoples’ mother.

In 2012, she contested for the parliamentary seat in the Bongo Constituency, when the party was in opposition.  She served as a Deputy Regional Women’s Organizer and was part of the 2020 Regional Campaign Team.  She helped in training constituency campaign teams. She enjoys tremendous support from the chiefs, party executives, and patrons.

She holds MBA and BA in Management.

Mr. Cletus Innocent Ayambire has served as a Regional Secretary for 12 years. He has held several other positions including TESCON secretary, electoral area coordinator, and deputy regional secretary.

He holds MA in Human Resource Management and BA in Information Studies/Political Science.

The committee is convinced that he has a good chance to win the seat in Bolga Central for the NPP.

The current MCE performed abysmally and did not impress the committee. He could not articulate the achievements of the government.

Mr. Asanga holds MA in Development Management and BSc in Tropical Agriculture.

BOLGATANGA EAST DISTRICT

The committee recommends Madam Vida Anaab Akantagriwen for nomination as MCE. Madam Vida Anaab Akantagriwen has served as the women organizer for the constituency from 2005 to the present. She has a strong grassroots association being a three-term assembly member. The applicant thus has a good working knowledge of the local government system.

The current DCE, David Afoko, is alleged by all applicants to be working with the NDC more than the NPP and at loggerheads with the party executives.

BUILSA SOUTH DISTRICT

The committee recommends Mr.  Daniel Kwame Gariba for renomination as MCE. Mr.  Daniel Kwame Gariba is the current MCE, and we recommend his renomination based on his contribution to development in the district and during the elections. He helped increase the presidential vote by 13.22%.

He contributed significantly during the 2020 general elections. He is a very good mobilizer whose nomination may continue to increase the fortunes of the party.

He holds MA in Business Administration and BA in Banking and Finance.

PUSIGA DISTRICT

The committee recommends Mr. Zubeiru Abdulai for renomination as DCE. Mr. Zubeiru Abdulai campaigned closely with the PC, provided financial and logistical support to drive the campaign. He has a good relationship with the executives and the grassroots members of the party.

He is experienced in public service administration.

The applicant has served as an NPP youth leader in the constituency, acted as secretary and polling agent for the party.

He was effective in the mobilization of his tribesmen, the Bisa tribe, who gave about 60% of their votes to the NPP.

He holds MA in education management and a BSc in Agriculture.

He has served as Upper East Regional chairman, regional vice Chairman, and constituency secretary. He is now a member of the regional council of elders and patrons.

He holds MA in Public Health, MA in Peace, Development Studies, and BA in Social Administration.

The committee recommends Mr.  Bampil B. Moses nomination as DCE.

In the event, Mr.  Bampil B. Moses is not preferred the committee recommends Issaka F. Awunya. The DCE did not perform as expected did not support the campaign as shown in the Osafo Marfo report.

Mr.  Bampil B. Moses is a versatile grassroots politician who is driven and is a team player with great communication skills. He is a committed party and community member who has served as a presiding member and assemblyman.

He was a vice-chairman for the constituency and the Chief Patron of TESCON in Gbewaa College. He holds MA and BA in English.

EASTERN REGION – MMDCEs

FANTEAKWA NORTH

The DCE, Mr. Charles Oware-Tweneboah, has been recommended to be renominated for the DCE position. He has a vision to manage the Assembly in order to attract both Local and Foreign Investors to the district for development.

Some of his achievements since his assumption of duty as the DCE are as follows; dredging of stagnant waters on the Dansor River and its surrounding, one time election of Presiding Member (PM) and grading of Apaa-Feyiase Road.

He was a former constituency secretary of Fanteakwa North Constituency; 2012-2016.

He holds an MBA in Project Management, Wisconsin International University College, (Accra); 2012-2014. He also holds a BA Political Science, University of Ghana, (Legon, Accra); 1997-2001.

He is a PhD Candidate in Migration Studies, University of Ghana (Legon) and has an Mphil in Geography and Resource Development, University of Ghana (Legon); 2016.

The committee recommended that, Mr. President should find something for Mr. Alhaji Umar B Bodinga like a Board of Director.

She holds a  STAGE II, (RSA), Modern Institute of Technology (MIT) Kumasi; 1978 – 1981 and holds a STAGE III, (RSA), Modern Institute of Technology (MIT) Kumasi; 1981-1983.

Mr. Kwabena Panin Nkansah is the sole contender and is currently the incumbent. His vision is to provide quality and sustainable socio-economic development for the people to enhance their living conditions and to meet their expectations and aspirations.

He is a Pioneer District Chief Executive, Atiwa East District Assembly; 2018 – Present, 2012 and 2015 Parliamentary Aspirant. Member, Eastern Region MDCEs Association; 2017 to date, Young Executive Forum of the NPP, Ashanti Region 2013 to date.

He has an Executive Masters in Business Administration, Ghana Institute of Management & Public Barrister at Law, Ghana School of Law, Accra; 1997 -2001, Administration; 2003 – 2005.

He is currently the DCE of the district.

He acted as polling Agent at the most waterloo spots in Akim Swedru Constituency – Arabic School, Akim Swedru 1992 and 1996. He was TESCON local President (University of Education – Mampong); 1997 -2001 and was the constituency Secretary for Akim Swedru Constituency formerly Achiase and Swedru combined; 2001 – 2019.

He has a Bachelor of Education (Degree) in Agriculture – University of Education, Winneba and a Diploma in Agriculture Education – University of Education, Winneba.

The committee recommend Mr. George Asante to be nominated as the DCE. He is the Presiding Member of the Assembly. He is very sociable, eloquent and exhibited competency.

His vision is to create an enabling condition for the party and the general public through the effective implementation of development activities, mobilization of the grassroot and inclusion of traditional authorities for the victory in election 2024.

He is currently the Head of Corporate Communications Unit, Metro Mass Transit Limited (Head Office, Accra); 2018 – Date.

He is the Chairman, Public Relations and Complaints Committee; 2020 – Date and a Member, Birim North District Assembly Audit Committee; 2020 – Date. Additionally, he was a Constituency, Communications Officer, Abirim Constituency; 2010 – 2012.

Mr. Paul Asamoah is the current DCE. No one applied for the position apart from him. The committee recommended him to be re-nominated since the tripod worked well. His mobilization skills saw the party increase in votes and taking the seat from the NDC in the 2020 elections.

He is seen as one who can unite the party constituents with the Tipper Truck Association, the market women association and the New Konkompe Land owners. This, the current MCE failed to do. He was unable to resolve conflicts among constituency executives and himself.

Nancy Boateng is an elected Assembly woman as well as the constituency treasurer.  She has a very good rapport with constituents and traditional authorities. She is also very eloquent and expresses herself very well.

Nancy was introduced to politics at an early age of 18years. She started as a polling station women organizer and rose through the ranks to the position constituency treasurer. She has held various positions including being the government appointee at the Kintampo Municipal Assembly. She was also a member of the constituency campaign team for the 2020 elections.

Kwasi Opra-kodom holds an Executive Programme in Management studies with GIMPA. And has a HND in Marketing with the Accra Technical University. Bringing the number of seats from 13 to 20. This is out of 29 in the Region.

As head of the electoral area campaign team, he embarked on door-door campaign with his team and maximize votes for the party and won all polling stations in his electoral area. He is a good team player and always ready to take on other responsibilities when called upon. He easily adapts to changes and very malleable.
