How do I change my SSNIT next of kin?

Please note that to update your beneficiary/nominee list (also known as next of kin), you need to visit the nearest SSNIT Branch to do so. This is because of its sensitive nature.

Kindly note your next of kin;

  •  Full name(s)
  • Date of birth
  • Residential and postal addresses of your nominees

NB: It is advised that you update nominee list at least once every 5 years. Our dedicated staff at the branch will assist you through the process.

How to request for SSNIT change of name

Kindly note that, as a policy SSNIT does not alter, change or add anything to what a member himself /herself voluntarily provided and certified during the first registration with SSNIT.

Change of name gives you a new identity and there are laws that govern the process. Hence, before SSNIT can accept a name other than what you registered with, you must provide evidence that you have indeed changed your name. A gazette is an official document which confirms that one has indeed changed the name. Without it, the name change cannot be admitted into the Trust’s records.

Kindly confirm if you have submitted the gazette to the branch to enable us follow up. Please include your full name and mobile number.
