About Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF)

The Students Loan Trust Fund is a public institution established under the Trustee Incorporation Act 1962, Act 106 to provide financial resources for the benefit of students and to promote and facilitate the national ideals as enshrined in Articles 25 and 38 of the 1992 Constitution. It is to replace the SSNIT Students Loan Scheme. The Students Loan Trust Fund Act 2011, Act 820 has been passed by Parliament.

Student Loan Application Requirements

To Apply for Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) applicant must;

  • Be a Ghanaian below the age of 45 years.
  • Have been offered admission to study an accredited tertiary programme in Ghana.
  • Be pursuing tertiary programme such as a diploma or 1st degree.
  • Register for a valid Ghana Card Number (can be acquired at designated GRA offices for free)
  • Have a valid Email Address
  • Register for a Mobile Phone Number
  • Have a Student ID card or admission letter
  • Have an E-zwich Card (can be obtained at any bank)

How to Create a New SLTF Student Loan Account

Here’s how fresh students access the student loan (SLTF application) portal and login to create an account.

  1. Access the SLTF Online Application Portal
  2. Tap on Create Account button
  3. Read the legal notice and click on Agree that is if you agree
  4. Fill in the required details
  5. Tap on Next to proceed

Once you create your account successfully, you will receive an activation code on your phone number or email. Input the code you received in the textbox and proceed on Activate SLTF Account button.

How to Activate Your Student Loan Account

If you are not able to activate your account; Let’s do this:

  1. Access the Login button on the homepage
  2. Navigate on Activate Account below the Sign-in form
  3. Enter your Ghana card number/SSNIT number
  4. Tap on Send Code
  5. Once you receive the activation code enter it into the Verification Code input field and click on Verify button.

After activating your account, you can now Login SLTF Portal to fill your student loan application form online.

NB:

  1. If for any reason you did not receive your activation code after 24hours, kindly contact the nearest Students Loan office for assistance.
  2. Activation code sent to you expires after 48hours.
  3. Also, make sure you enter your correct active phone number and email address should be in small letters to receive the activation code.

Reset  Your SLTF Password

If you have forgotten your SLTF student loan password; Here’s what to do 

  1. Access the  Login homepage button
  2. Tap on Forgotten Password tab
  3. Enter your Ghana card Number/SSNIT Number
  4. Tap on the Next button
  5. Your activation code will be sent through SMS. Input the code in the Verification Code input field and tap to Verify.
  6. Input your New Password and click on Submit.

Well done!!! You can now login with your Ghana card number/SSNIT number and your new password.

Student Loan Trust Fund Online Application Form

To complete the whole application process you need to;

  1. Upload all required and relevant supporting documents.
  2. Confirm your application details.
  3. Download and Upload all Agreement documents requested by the application.
  4. Take your biometric fingerprint at the nearest zonal or campus offices.

You will be contacted via email when your application is due. That’s all you need to do!
