How to Apply for GES Teachers Promotions Application

Ghana Education Service – GES applications are invited from suitably qualified serving Officers/Teachers for consideration for promotion to upgrade.

GES Teachers Promotion

  1. Deputy Director
  2. Assistant Director I
  3. Assistant Director II
  4. Principal Superintendent

Qualification for GES Promotion

  1. Deputy Director: An Applicant Should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director I on or before 2016 and should have been continuously at the post since the date (except for the periods of approved leave of absence)
  2. Assistant Director I: An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director II on or before 2016 and should have been continuously at the post since the date (except for the periods of approved leave  of absence)
  3. Assistant Director II: An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Principal Superintendent on or before 2016 and should have been continuously at the post since the date (except for the periods of approved leave  of absence)
  4. Principal Superintendent: An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent on or before 2016 and should have been continuously at the post since the date (except for the periods of approved leave  of absence)

Officers/Teachers with Master’s Degree and PhD

For the avoidance of doubt, applicants who wish to rely on Master’s/ Doctorate degrees to join the promotion exercise out of turn should note the following:

  1. Master’s /PhD programme should be on the approved GES course of study.
  2. The Master’s /PhD certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion
  3. Applicants should have obtained their certificate on or before 2018 but not before their last promotion.

Mode of Application

  1. Applicant should complete the APPLICATION FORM online, and upload a passport-size photograph as well.
  2. An applicant should upload only the last promotion letter upgrading letter or appointment letter.
  3. An applicant should upload only a master’s/Doctorate Degree certificate when using it for his/her promotion.
  4. All documents uploaded should be in a PDF format with using it for his/her promotion.
  5. All documents uploaded should be clear and readable.
  6. The complete application form should be uploaded to the website.

Please note: Failure to comply will result in outright disqualification

  1. The application forms can be accessed at www.gespromotions.gov.gh
  2. Click on Apply for promotion
  3. Start a new application or Access an existing application
  4. Fill in and upload all required details.
  5. Preview and Submit
