How to Apply for a Student Loan Using the HELB Mobile App

- Download the HELB App from the Google Play Store
- Register using your Safaricom phone number to generate an activation code
- Create a 4-digit PIN that you will use to login
- Confirm personal & Institutional details to proceed
- Tap on the “APPLY SUBSEQUENT PRODUCTS” and swipe through the information provided till you get to the “Get Started” tab
- Tap on the Loan Application option
- Read and understand the Loan terms and conditions and agree to proceed
- Answer the financial literacy questions and click “Proceed”
- Select your preferred loan payment option and verify to proceed
- Click Request loan, review your loan details then hit “Submit”
Upon completion, you will see your loan serial number on the App and SMS notification to confirm the successful application.

- Select the academic year and confirm institutional details
- Click send and receive a confirmation message with the scholarship application serial number.
The moment you complete your application on the HEF portal you will receive an email confirming your submission.
