GES Inter District Transfer and Reposting

Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced processes of Inter District Transfer and Reposting for the 2022/2023 Academic Year across the country.

How to Get Started with GES Reposting

An Applicant writes to the District Director and attaches his/her current payslip, personal record form, certificates, bank clearance, etc. indicating his/her willingness to move from his/her current school to another school within the district. The District Director declares objection or otherwise, by issuing an approval letter to the applicant.

How to Apply for GES Inter District Transfer and Reposting

The Management of GES has outlined five key procedures/steps to assist applicants seeking the reposting.

  • STEP 1

An Applicant seeks an Assurance letter from a preferred District within the Region where vacancies exist.

  • STEP 2

The receiving District Director declares objection or otherwise, by issuing an assurance letter to the applicant.

  • STEP 3

After securing the assurance letter, the applicant applies for reposting from his/her current District. The District Director writes a covering letter, indicating his/her consent.

The District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office.

  • STEP 4

The Regional Director gives final approval.

  • STEP 5

After the final approval is given, the current District Director then releases the applicant to complete the reposting process

NB: A teacher seeking Inter District reposting can only be released by their current District after the Regional Director has given the final approval.

Issuance of Assurance letters for GES Reposting

According to Service , the GES Issuance of Assurance Letters would begin from 11th August 2022 to 30th September 2022.

Schedules for Applications for GES reposting

The processing of applications to the Headquarters is scheduled to begin in September 2022 and take effect from the beginning of the next academic year (January 2023).
