The Gambia Armed Forces hereby informs the general public that it will conduct a recruitment exercise for possible enlistment into the Gambia Armed Forces for officer cadets, regular soldiers, and tradesperson.
Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment into Gambia Armed Forces
Prospective candidates must fulfill the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a Gambian by birth.
- Must possess a minimum education of grade 12 or equivalent school leaving certificate with at least 6 credits including English and Mathematics for officer cadets.
- Must possess a minimum education of grade 9 school leaving certificate with at least 5 passes including English and Mathematics for regular soldiers.
- Tradesmen/women shall possess certificates/knowledge in the following areas:
- Carpentry
- Masonry
- Electrician
- Plumbing
- Welding
- Sliding Window
- Plastering & Suspended Ceiling
- A/C Technician
- Be between the ages of 18-22 years for officer cadets.
- Be between the ages of 18-25 years for Regular soldiers.
- Be between the ages of 18-28 years for tradesmen.
- Tradesmen must provide the appropriate certificates and documents for proof of skills.
Gambia Military Establishments
Interested candidates can obtain application forms from any of the following military establishments at a non-refundable fee of D100.00 (one hundred dalasis only).
- Defense Headquarters, the Gambia Armed Forces, 3 Marina Parade, Banjul.
- Fajara Barracks, Bakau.
- 1 Infantry Battalion, Yundum Barracks, Yundum.
- 2 Infantry Battalion, Farafenni Barracks, Farafenni.
- 3 Infantry Battalion, Basse.
- Gambia Navy, Wharf Ngago, Banjul.
- 4 Infantry Battalion, Kanilai.
How to Apply for Gambia Armed Force Recruitment
Duly completed forms along with photocopies of School Certificates, Birth Certificates, National Identity Cards or Passports, and Four (4) passport-size photographs should be submitted to any of the above-mentioned military establishments.
Applicants are hereby warned to desist from duplication of application forms. Photocopied application forms will not be accepted. Every application form must carry an original serial number.
