Elimu Scholarships Application Form
The Ministry of Education through The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation (JKF) and Equity Group Foundation is awarding Secondary School Elimu Scholarships in all 47 Counties to needy and vulnerable learners who attained 280 marks and above in the 2025 KCPE Examination.
For affirmative action, candidates with special needs and disabilities who attained below 280 marks will be eligible. Learners from Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups with 250 marks and above are also eligible. Refugee learners, both girls and boys from camp-based schools who attained 240 and 250 marks will also benefit from the Scholarship Program.
Who is Eligible for JKF Elimu Scholarships?
Only candidates who sat the 2025 KCPE examinations from public primary schools refugee learners from 49 Camp Based Primary Schools and those refugee learners who attended Public Primary Schools outside the camps in Kakuma, Kalobeyei, and Daadab are eligible.
In addition, the applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Learners from Poor and vulnerable backgrounds including:
- Orphans;
- Learners from urban informal settlements;
- Learners whose parents/guardians are living with disabilities that have compromised their ability to meet the financial obligations of their children;
- Learners whose families are affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses with debilitating effects that could render parents and guardians destitute and unable to fend for their families;
- Learners whose families are affected by extreme poverty, rendering them unable to educate their children;
- Learners who have suffered from neglect/abuse and have no support to continue with their education.
- Learners with Special needs and disabilities.
Interested applicants are advised to collect scholarship application forms from the nearest Sub-County Education office. Refugee learners’ forms can be collected from Equity Bank Branches in Kakuma and Dadaab and the Sub-County Education offices or Equity Bank Agent in Kakuma and Dadaab or the office of the Camp Manager, Department of Refugee Services in Kakuma and Dadaab.
Documents Required for Elimu Scholarship
To complete the online process, you will be required to have soft/scanned copies of the following documents:
- KCPE Results Slip (official KNEC slip or signed & stamped paper from the school)
- Copy of Death Certificate (if father/mother is/are deceased)
- Evidence of financial support (if you have received support in the past)
- Evidence of special needs (if you have indicated that you are a special needs learner)
- Copy of Pay Slip / Bank Statement (if parents/guardians are employed / business person)
- Signed Declaration by Applicant and Parent / Guardian
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Filled out application and recommendation form by the Head Teacher, Provincial Administration, Religious Leader, or any other leader
How to Apply for JKF Elimu Scholarships
- JKF ELIMU Application forms (PDF) can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Education Website via www.education.go.ke
- Applications for non-refugee learners can also be done online at https://scholarship.jkf.co.ke
- Applications for refugee learners can also be done at http://scholarship.jkf.co.ke and https://egfdmis.equitybank.co.ke/register_elimu
- Duly completed application forms including supporting documents should be submitted either online, OR to the nearest Sub-County Education office.
However, for refugees learners, the forms can also be submitted to the office of the Camp Manager in Kakuma and Dadaab, Equity Bank Branch, or Equity Bank Agents in Kakuma and Daadab.
Shortlisted candidates, accompanied by parents/guardians, will be invited for interviews which will be conducted by the Community Selection Advisory Committees (CSACs).
Please note that ONLY the candidates who meet the stipulated criteria will be considered for the scholarship.

Benefits of Elimu Scholarships
- The Elimu Scholarship caters for school fees, transport to and from school, school kits, and a stipend (pocket money) for the beneficiaries for the four-year education period.
