The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCO) in Ghana wishes to inform all Principals, Deans, and Heads of Departments, Fresh and Continuing Students, of the following re-opening dates/arrangements for the 2024/2025 academic year’s first and second semesters, respectively.
Reopening Dates for Colleges of Education
Here’s the calendar for the 2024/2025 Academic Year approved by PRINCOF, GTEC, and the Ministry of Education for the forty-six (46) public Colleges of Education in Ghana. Find out the reopening dates for all Ghana Colleges of Education (CoE).
- November 11-15, 2024: Level 400 students report to campus for orientation in preparation for macro teaching.
- November 15, 2024: Level 400 students begin their macro teaching attachment.
- November 18, 2024: Levels 100, 200, and 300 students return to campus for the start of the first semester (Phase 1).
- December 21, 2024 – January 11, 2025: Christmas break for Levels 100, 200, and 300 students.
- January 12, 2025: Levels 100, 200, and 300 students return for the second phase of the first semester.
- March 3-14, 2025: End-of-semester examinations for Levels 100, 200, and 300 students.
- March 15 – April 26, 2025: Semester break for Levels 100, 200, and 300 students.
- April 27, 2025: All students (Levels 100-400) return for the second semester. Level 400 students will conduct their studies off-campus.
- July 21 – August 1, 2025: End-of-semester examinations for all levels.
- August 2, 2025: Inter-semester break begins.

In Ghana, most of the Colleges of Education are affiliated with public Universities in Ghana such as; the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Cape Coast, University of Education, Winneba, and the University of Development Studies.
Apply to Study at CoE
Applicants who have yet to apply for the College of Education should buy an admission form to obtain an application serial number and PIN. Proceed to the COE Admission Portal to complete an online application form. Check your admission status regularly.
