INEC General Election and Voting Procedures
Here are the election procedures announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for all eligible Nigerian voters.
- Voting Starts at 8:30 am
- Check and be sure your name is on the register of voters in that Polling Unit
- Once accredited you will be issued a ballot paper
- You can leave or stay 300 meters away from the voting area to witness vote sorting and counting
- Present your PVC for accreditation using BVAS
- Get authenticated with the BVAS through finger-print or facials
- Go to the voting cubicle to make your choice in secret and drop the marked ballot paper in the ballot box

Here’s how to locate and confirm your INEC polling unit before election day
- Open a Message App on your phone
- Enter the Name of your State, Lastname and the last 6 digits of your Voter Identification Number (VIN)
- Text or Sent to 09062830860 or 09062830861 to get your Polling unit name.
