Application For Admission To A Undergraduate Programmmes/Courses

General Entrance Requirements:

Degree Programmes/Courses

The following requirements must be presented:

1. Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least five passes in subjects appropriate to the chosen area of study, including the English Language and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with at least two principal passes ( average C+ or 55% for students from countries with no ‘’A’’ level), OR
2. Passing a Mature Age Entrance Examination or Aptitude test, OR
3. A Diploma in a relevant subject from a recognized institution at a 2nd class or higher level.

Diploma Programmes/Courses

The following requirements must be presented:

1. Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with five passes in subjects appropriate to the chosen area of study, including a pass in English Language or equivalent, and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least one principal pass in a relevant subject or equivalent, (average C or 50% from countries with no ‘’A’’ level), OR
2. A certificate in a relevant subject from a recognized educational institution. OR
3. For a Diploma in Primary Education, one must have a Grade III Teacher’s (P1) certificate from a recognized institution.

Certificate Programmes/Courses

The following requirements must be presented:

1. An applicant must have a UCE certificate or its equivalent with at least five passes.

Application For Admission To A Postgraduate Programmmes/Courses

General Entrance Requirements:

Ph.D. Programmes/Courses Entrance Requirements

Here is the list of Entrance Requirements for applicants offering Ph.D. programmes/Courses

1. Applicant must hold a relevant master’s degree or equivalent
2. Two (2) years of work experience
3. Submit a concept paper on the intended area of research
4. Must pass a Ph.D. qualifying exam given by the university.

Masters Programmes/Courses Entrance Requirements

Here is the list of Entrance Requirements for applicants offering Masters programmes/Courses

1. All applicants must hold a first degree or its equivalent with a cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or Second Class Lower and above.
2. Non-Ugandan applicants must have the equivalent of the above as awarded by their home universities. Do not convert to the Bugema University grading system.

Postgraduate Diploma Entrance Requirements

Here is the list of Entrance Requirements for applicants offering Postgraduate Diploma programmes/Courses

1. A student must have a First Degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution.
2. Those from Non-English speaking countries will be required to prove that they have sufficient command of English to cope with graduate studies; those scoring below average in English proficiency will be required to do an intensive English program to help them improve their communication. A non-refundable fee will be charged for the English proficiency test.

Points to Note:

Include the following when you return this form:

1. Photocopy of secondary school certificates/diplomas where applicable
2. Original certified copies of academic transcript and certificate for the first degree
3. Two recent passport-size photos
4. Non-refundable Application fee has it (Terms and Conditions Apply) for Master’s and Ph.D., respectively.

Here are the steps on how to create via the BMU admission Portal to become a student of Bugema University

1. Access the BMU Student Portal
2. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Phone Number
3. Enter your Email Address and Date of Birth
4. Select your Country, Study Location, Study Time, the level you wish to Join (Postgraduate/Undergraduate Programmes/Courses), and Gender.
5. Select the Department you are interested in
6. Select the Courses you are planning to pursue
7. Confirm how you know about Bugema University, and confirm if having any learning disabilities.
8. Locate and tap on Submit Button to Proceed.
