Ankole Western University, AWU Admission Requirements

Ankole Western University welcomes applicants for undergraduate studies from a wide variety of educational backgrounds. These are the three avenues of entry into this University:

Direct Entry Scheme:

A candidate is deemed eligible for being considered for admission to a bachelor’s Degree programme/courses if he/she has obtained the following:

1. Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent qualification.
2. At least two principal passes in relevant and approved subjects at the same sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or an equivalent qualification.

Diploma Holders Entry Scheme

1. A candidate must be a Diploma holder relevant to the desired field of study from a recognized Institution of higher learning.

Mature Age/Special Entry Scheme

1. Candidates for the Mature Age/Special Entry Scheme must be Ugandan nationals of at least 25 years and have had formal education. Those who are successful in both the written and the oral examination are then considered for admission.

3. All academic records in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. At registration, originals shall be required.
